a couple of beers and a baseball game...

Upon arriving at The Sam Houston Hotel, we met up with Emily and Richard before walking to The Flying Saucer, officially making it a Houston tradition to go to grab a few beers there and attend an Astros baseball game. My friend Erica and Sarah, who live in Houston now, met us at the game - yay! Even though I had been feeling sick all week, I just couldn't miss out on this trip. Bottles of medicine in tow- I made it through and even snapped a few pictures! Here is our Friday afternoon-evening in Houston:

{The game went into the 11th inning and ended in a tie- Everyone wins!! Thanks Tiffany for letting me use some of your iphone pictures of the game!}

The Halamudas are Hitched!

This was a Camp Fern wedding- and I don't say that because it was an outdoor wedding, or because Whitney and Jeremy met at camp, or even because Whit and I became friends at camp. I say this because the ceremony honored the lessons that Camp Fern teaches its campers by explaining the Fern motto "God First, Others Second, I am Third." The Reverend (Whitney's Uncle, I think) explained that "The Other" is your significant other and how important it is to put your husband or wife's needs before your own. It was very moving. I could honestly feel the love in the air.

{Notice the difference a flash makes in the last group of pictures.}

It was sooo good to see everyone!
Can you guess which head I had to swap in Photoshop? I know,... I'm good ;)

it was good night and not goodbye

Erica,

You will forever be remembered for the things that you did at Camp Fern. Thanks for your years of hard work and dedication. The campers were blessed to have you. Congratulations on your new adventure!

              Love you,

Thank you to Mrs. Margaret and Mr. Lee for a thoughtful evening!

camp friends are the best!

Growing up, my summers were spent on Fern Lake making friends, learning new things...growing as an independent little lady. Camp can be hard to explain to anyone who hasn't experienced it. I pull from my experiences and life lessons from Camp Fern quite often. Suffice it to say that camp helped form me into who I am today. I am forever grateful to my parents who saw the importance of Camp Fern and were gracious enough to send me and my sisters there. I am lucky to have found such great friends through it; and I look forward to when my future children experience the joy of camp.

Last week my friends Erica, Whitney, and I got together for a night of fun at Fern Retreat. No matter how much time goes by between our seeing eachother - we jump right back into the friendship. Caring and sharing about our lives. Love you girls!

Thanks for keepin' it silly :)
