Yesterday afternoon I found myself surrounded by women that I have known for years. Women that have supported me almost my entire life; they have prayed for me, loved me, and laughed with me. To consider myself blessed is an understatement. I am honored to know them and lucky to have them in my corner. My mother has shown me the importance of friendship, not only through her words, but through her actions. She has friends she has known since she was a little girl, friends from her first job as a nurse, other mothers she has met through schools, church, or her zillion other craft groups and activities. Without her kind nature and loving heart that she shares with others everyday, I would never have known such kindness. These wonderful friends have reached out to offer their time and efforts to me to help celebrate our marriage. Thank you, Mom for always being an example of how to be a woman, a mother, and a friend. I love you.
Thanks Mrs. Gerry for taking pictures at the shower! And thanks Aunt Susan for traveling in from Texas for the shower. To those that couldn't make it, you were with us in spirit! -xoxo-

shower her with gifts...
It is unreal how fast time flies. It feels like Lauren and I were just sitting at work wondering when our boyfriends were planning to propose... and now I find myself face to face with her wedding weekend! I am so excited about all the festivities this weekend has in store. Tison and I hit the road tomorrow toward Plaquemine, LA until we reach Nottoway Plantation. eeek! I can't wait.

weekend photos
Well, it started raining Friday night at around 6:30 and stopped an hour later. It was just enough time to make my backyard a swamp-which puts a damper (hehehe) on having an outdoor movie extravaganza.
The show was moved to the den where Russell, Tison, and I enjoyed movie snacks and the big screen!

Saturday
My sweet friend Mary Eileen is getting married at the end of this month. I am so excited for her and very thankful to be a part of her life. Here are a few photos from the stock-the-kitchen party on Saturday.

After the party I went to another gathering for my friend Elizabeth's birthday. Her sister Emily always knows how to entertain guests!

Sunday
Although we don't keep up with soccer at any other time of the year, for some reason the World Cup is especially important to me and Tison. Sunday was the final game between the Netherlands and Espana.
{Guess who he is rooting for...notice Sausage Bear is uninterested}
{That's right, we made signs!}
And for those of you that don't know:
So, what did you do this weekend?
