...say cheese!

This weekend we celebrated Diane and David's 25th birthday at their lovely home. In her perfectly adorable Diane way, chalk boards were fashioned to display the cheese labels. Cheese trays were dispersed through out the party rooms for guests to nibble on. Of course these cheeses were coupled with the appropriate wine, which undoubtedly kept Tison smiling all night :)

David made his famous homemade bread from scratch that complimented the brie perfectly. Although I had never tried pairing sun dried tomatoes or figs with cheese and crackers, I was pleasantly surprised at the delectable combination.

Ohhh, it was so Gouda!

Happy Birthday you two!

Lunches with Lauren & Lindsey

Yes, I just spoke about myself in 3rd person.... now then, Lauren and I like to indulge in a lunch outing every now and again to break up the monotony of things here at the ole J-O-B. You might have seen one of our outings here. I thought I'd post a few pictures of our adventures from the last little while.

how bazaar

Over the weekend I went to the Centenary College Gold Dome for their annual Book Bazaar. I was overwhelmed with over 70,000 books organized into sections for my choosing. Most of the books ranged from 25 cents to a dollar and a quarter! Incredible! I was particularly interested in the children's books section due to the impending due date of my little sister's baby. {well... and because I love illustrations!}

I came across these lovely finds:

{this whole bundle cost $6.00!}

The illustrations are to-die-for...

So, what are you waiting for?
Mark your calendars for next year.

I'll definitely be there!

weekend recap...

The Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet performed at the Riverview Theater Saturday night. Diane, Lauren, and I attended. It is amazing how beautiful choreographed dance can be. I literally got chill bumps during some of the performances! The picture above is during intermission when they invited all the young people in the crowd who wanted a little lesson to jump on stage. I was this-close to going up there myself, but I didn't want to steal the show!!

After the ballet, we went to the Village Grille where we met up with Daci and Natalie. We all indulged in the well known snow bear, of course! I had the shrimp lafayette appetizer and snuck a bite of that strawberry cake :)  The food was divine.
The ambiance is reminiscent of Mad Men, the show I can't seem to get enough of. It was a lovely night out with some hilarious and gorgeous ladies!
