mongolian stir fry anyone?...Genghis Grill

There's a new Genghis Grill restaurant on -you guessed it- Youree Drive. A little afternoon date spot for Ty and myself. Once you are seated, the server gives you a small silver bowl. Then you get in line to choose your meat, veggies, sauce, etc. You hand the bowl off to another server that asks if you want noodles or fried rice. (Imagine an assembly line.)They plop it on a hot grill and when it is steaming and smelling delicious, they bring your meal to the table ready to eat. I don't know if I can properly "review" this restaurant seeing that you are in total control of what goes in your own bowl. If it doesn't taste good, it's kinda your own fault. Remember to pile those veggies high people 'cause they cook down on the grill. It's a fun, different way to set up a restaurant, but I wouldn't call it A+ food.
I have been making a lot of "notes to self" lately, but seriously Linz- stop wearing that fuzzy vest so much, even though it is so comfortable and you can eat as much as you want and everything stays concealed!

I just can't help myself...

If there is a new restaurant in the area, I seek it out. I keep a running list of new restaurants or places I haven't tried yet at my office desk. It is something I highly look forward to and as of late there are about a zillion popping up on Youree drive, as if there are no other streets in my town. One road- where everything wants to be built. I call it Youree Hell. Did it stop me from trying the new sub place in town, Jersey Mike's on a Saturday during Christmas time? Well, as you can see here- it didn't.
The first time I tried Jersey Mike's was in Charleston, SC when I traveled to attend my friend Laef's graduation. It was so fresh and tasty that it even stood out in my mind years later when I saw the sign on the store front light up in Shreveport. A special drive down Youree Hell proves that I believe it trumps the other subbies out there. Tison ordered the reuben. de-li-cious! Ty and I fibbed (to no one in particular) by repetitively stating how exhausted we were from all the Christmas shopping we had just done (aka sitting on the couch) - how exhausted and famished- sooooo much shopping....hehe ;)

breaking danh...

No, I have not misspelled the Twilight Saga that opens tonight! Lauren, Katie and I went to Danh's Garden recently because we were craving their chicken pad thai with peanut sauce. I love this dish SO much! It hits my favorite flavor notes - sweet and savory - and the peanut sauce?! I could drink this stuff through a straw! Although the building looks questionable, the food more than makes up for the lackluster location.
Tison's favorite dish is B6- Stir Fry Lemon Grass Beef Noodle Salad. He was so mad I went without him. Hehe! Until we meet again Danh...

How do i love thee...

...Imperial Cathay?
Let me count the ways:
 1. The service is always impeccable
2. While I wait for food, the fish tanks are there to entertain me!
2. Your crab rangoon is like no other
3. When I order Mu Shu Gai Pan,
the waiter puts it in pretty little pancakes for me
4. I love your comfy booths
5. If I order to-go, it is ready "10 minute."  :)
